History The project was developed by the Swiss architectural firm "Herzog and de Meuron". The preliminary commissioning was planned in 2010, however, due to numerous delays, the building was commissioned only in January 2017. At the same time, the construction price increased from the preliminary 241 to 789 million euros. The first performance was a concert by the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra "Zum Raum wird hier die Zeit".
